Volunteers
We welcome members of our local community to volunteer at Sarisbury. Volunteers play a vital role and we appreciate their time, skills and enthusiasm, all of which help enrich learning experiences, support staff and strengthen our wider community. They make a real difference to our children's wellbeing and confidence.
Some volunteer roles may include:
- Supporting children with reading, playing a phonics or maths game
- Facilitating activities with a small group of children, for example a memory game
- Helping with creative activities, such as Art or sewing in Design & Technology
- Assisting with classroom organisation and resources, such as photocopying or Library organisation
- Accompanying classes on educational visits
- Supporting school events like our Christmas Bazaar and Strawberry Fayre
- Sharing skills, interests or hobbies, e.g. storytelling and gardening
We are committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of all our children. All volunteers are required to follow safeguarding procedures and complete a DBS check. Full information regarding this procedure and the identity documents required are available from the school Office. Once volunteers are issued with a clear DBS, guidance and support is provided, so all volunteers feel confident and well informed in their role.
