PSHE
The Voice of the Crew have been busy thinking about road safety and presented as assembly to the whole school. They stood up, were very brave but showed great knowledge and confidence! Well done Voice of the Crew!
The Voice of the Crew planned a sale of small high visibility items to promote road safety within the school. They did a fantastic job, showing great organizational skills and enthusiasm, raising £35.50 for the school. They really enjoyed the challenge and we were super proud of them. The Parent Crew and children were all amazing giving their support.
We did a scooter count to see how many people were coming to school on their scooters, trying to promote clean air. Through our WOW Walk to School Challenge we have been trying to earn badges by travelling to school in an active way.
Sarisbury Infant School have been taking part in the WOW Walk to School Challenge, WOW – the walk to school challenge is delivered by Living Streets, the UK charity for everyday walking, to help as many children as possible experience the benefits of walking to school. The pupil-led challenge enables children to self-report how they get to school every day. If they travel actively (walk/wheel, cycle, scoot or Park and Stride) at least once a week for a month, they get rewarded with a badge. It’s that simple! There are a variety of badges to collect.
Our curriculum develops skills so that all of our children become:
CARING, RESILIANT, ENTHUSIASTIC, WONDERING
members of our CREW.
At Sarisbury Infant School we have a firmly embedded whole school ethos where the children’s personal, social and moral development is of the utmost importance to us. Our curriculum develops skills so that all children in our school can become Caring, Resilient, Enthusiastic and Wondering members of our CREW.
Our PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, Economic education) curriculum is reflected in everything we do and the children fully understand our Sarisbury Charter.
At Sarisbury Infant School we are all part of the CREW and we are all on board the Sarisbury Challenger.
The aim of PSHE is for children to acquire skills so they can thrive as:
- individuals
- as a member of their family
- as part of the wider community.

At Sarisbury Infant School we will be using the PSHE Association’s Thematic Long Term Overview to ensure we are providing our children with a comprehensive curriculum, based on the three core themes of ‘Relationships; Living in the Wider World and Health and Wellbeing’. This will also ensure that relevant areas of the Government’s new statutory Relationships and Health Education are covered. Our new ‘Relationships Education’ policy can be found below, along with the long term overview for PSHE at Sarisbury Infant School.
