Children's Mental Health and Wellbeing
At Sarisbury, we believe that a child’s emotional wellbeing is just as important as their physical health and academic development. We are committed to creating a nurturing, supportive environment where every child feels safe, valued, and understood.
Through daily routines, play, and structured activities, we help children develop resilience, self-confidence, and positive relationships. Our staff are trained to support children’s emotional needs, and we encourage open conversations about feelings to help children understand and manage their emotions.
We also work closely with parents and carers to promote wellbeing at home and provide additional support when needed. By fostering a caring and inclusive school community, we ensure that every child has the foundation they need to thrive.
Here is our vision which explains what Mental Health and Well-being looks like for children at Sarisbury:

Children's Mental Health and Well-being Week
We took part in Place2Be's Children's Mental Health Week where we thought about the importance of self-awareness and expressing emotions linked to the characters from Inside Out 2. We also looked about how they can help themselves to become more resilient as they grow and develop.
We took part in lots of different activities throughout the week linked to mental health and well-being. We started the week by inviting the children to come in non-school uniform wearing their favourite outfit, a splash of colour, traditional attire that celebrates their culture or a hobby. We wanted them to be able to express themselves, showing how unnique and special we all are.
