Below is our vision for writing at Sarisbury Infant School

As a school we believe in using high quality texts to inspire meaningful writing. We also ensure children have a broad and balanced writing curriculum. During Early Years the texts selected are based upon the children's interests and what is happening in the world around them. The KS1 team ensure children are exposed to fiction and non-fiction texts and the children produce writing in a variety of genres.

Each class has a writing working wall. The working wall is there to support children in their learning and has the current writing journey displayed. Word aware is also evident on these walls. Our 'Wondering Walter' words are ambitious words that we aim for our children to use in their writing.

 Handwriting

We follow a handwriting scheme that enables children to develop their fine and gross motor skills in readiness for letter formation. We follow a cursive handwriting scheme. Below is how we form our letters. The children are taught lead outs but not lead ins.
