DUE IN TUESDAY 10th July 2018

This will be the last home learning task of year 2! Thank you for all of your support with home learning over the year. We have really noticed the impact of the children’s extra practise and pre-learning of subjects. This home learning is a chance for the children to reflect on their time at Sarisbury Infant School. We look forward to sharing your memories.

Please note the following diary dates:

Leavers' Assembly – 9.15am and 2.15pm   on Wednesday 18th July

Leavers' Service - St Paul’s Church   at 2pm on Thursday 19th July

(Please   let your class teacher know if you are able to help walk to the church on 19th  July)

As we are reaching the end of the  term we will be doing some fun activities to celebrate the end of year   2. Once again, thank you for your   continued support and we wish the children the very best of luck in year 3!

DUE IN Tuesday 7th November   2017

The Year 2 Team hopes you had a   lovely and well deserved half term break.

For our Christmas production this   year we will be holding a musical / pantomime called ‘Pirates vs Mermaids’. To help us with our casting process, we   would like the children to audition to either be a narrator, a pirate or a   mermaid. In good panto fashion, pirates could be girls and mermaids could be   boys. Talk with your child about the fact these might not be their actual   lines for the show and some parts are singing and dancing rather than   speaking and acting.

Please learn off by heart either the   Pirate or Mermaid part

Pirate:   Right lads, first let’s do a quick run through of the correct way to walk   from the plank. Remember, you must tuck and roll into the sea. Tuck and roll.   All clear? Captain Scary Pants, you’re first up.

Mermaid: Neptuna,   get the snorkels. Atlantis, get the inflatable rubber rings. Come on   everyone, let’s hit the pool!

Or, be able to read this narrator   part with expression

Narrator:   Avast there landlubbers! I’m here to tell you a tale of swashbuckling pirates   and brave mermaids. Be warned, it is not for the faint hearted. Those of a   nervous disposition should leave now. I was talking to the audience! Are we sitting   comfortably? Good, then let’s begin.

Remember lots of enthusiasm and   emphasis to WOW the judges and audience. Also, you don’t have to provide or   bring in props for the auditions.

SPaG

Tricky words: use, saw, like

Please reinforce these at home by   practising these spellings. You might like to draw a picture to help you   remember the spelling.

Maths Marines
