Strawberry Fair

This year our theme was musicals and our children learnt songs and dances related to different musicals. We invited all of our friends and family along to watch and it was a great performance by the children - well done everyone! We then had stalls set up in the school grounds by our PTA which the children really enjoyed.

Heroes Day

We raised more than £270 for Help For Heroes. All the children dressed up as a real life hero or an inspirational person in their life, before meeting members of the emergency services at the school. Costumes included police officers, soldiers, nurses, doctors and other more unique individuals who the children think are inspirational in their lives. Thank you to Miss Barnes for organising such an exciting day!

Magic of Colour Week

The children have had a fantastic week learning how to be an artist! We have been focusing on abstract art and exploring how to use powder paint. They have also had the opportunity to use other mediums such as pastels and pencils too. We were lucky enough to have one of our parents - Lizzie Schofield who came to work with some of our children too on a larger art project. The children have been learning how to create a colour wheel, seeing which of the primary colours you need to mix together to create the secondary colours. The children have been working hard to create their favourite masterpiece to display in our Sarisbury Gallery ready for the parents to purchase if they would like to.

Red Nose Day

Our VOICE team decided that we would come dressed in red, tell silly songs, rhymes or jokes and then have a disco courtesy of DJ Weavers to help raise money for Red Nose Day. We raised an amazing £393.04! Thank you to everyone who donated - the children had a fantastic day and it was all for a good cause.

Coldeast Woodland Park

We were lucky enough to be visited by Councillor Sean Woodward from the Sarisbury Division. He came to talk to the children about a new children's play area which they are in the process of planning and they wanted our help - it will be called Coldest Woodland Park. The children have been asked to make a vote between two play different areas of the park - it is fantastic for our children to play a part in the process. Our school has also been asked to bury a time capsule which they will dig up in 25 years.

World Book Day 2017

At Sarisbury, we celebrated World Book Day by asking both the children and staff to come dressed up as their favourite book character. The children were involved in activities throughout the day and also during the whole week. We shared lots of different books and also enjoyed reading books by a variety of authors. Below are some of our staff who enjoyed dressing up as much as the children!

 Sarisbury Crew

Children across the school have been working with Mrs Russell over a number of days to create these canvases to showcase our CREW members. They have been using their artistic talents to recreate each character which have now been displayed in our school hall. They are there to remind the children how to be Caring, Resilient, Enthusiastic and Wonderers.

'Road to Rio' Dance Workshops

Rio ws

We have had a fantastic day on the ‘Road to Rio’ learning our dances linked to the Rio Olympics 2016.  We had an opening ceremony where we found out about our Year Group country, flag and National Anthem. Then we learnt our special themed dances which linked to our countries. Finally we had the opportunity for a closing ceremony where we performed our dances. We look forward to showing you our new moves on the afternoon of the Strawberry Fayre!

Night Walk 5th November 2015

Thank you very much to those of you who came on our night walk. It was touch and go whether we would go for the walk around Holly Hill but luckily the weather held. It was lovely walking in the woods at night and by the conversation that was taking place we could tell everyone was enjoying the walk. After the walk we came back to the hall and had some hot chocolate provided by the PTA and read stories. We finished the evening off by watching a bedtime story and some fireworks. We hope you had as much fun as we did.

 Mad Hatters Tea Party!

On Wednesday we had a whole school Mad Hatters Tea Party as part of our Alice in Wonderland topic. It was so much fun. The children looked fantastic in their hats. It all started at lunch when Emily our chef made the children special cakes. They tasted delicious. In the afternoon every year group had a tea party in their classrooms and played party games. Thank you to the PTA for the cakes, drinks and biscuits. Have a look at each class page for their pictures.

We have launched our new reading challenge. You need to colour in all of the squares around the Sarisbury Challenger. Remember it does not have to be everytime you read a book but it could be when you look at magazines, online articles, newspapers or even road signs. Happy reading!
